1. Scope
This policy covers personal information RouteOS collects directly through routeos.io and its communications, and explains the distinction between that information and data collected through customer-operated RouteOS installations.
2. Our Roles and Customer Installations
Each party is responsible for complying with applicable data-protection law in relation to the personal data it controls.
The customer is generally responsible for passenger, driver, customer and booking data collected through its own RouteOS installation and for ensuring it has an appropriate lawful basis and privacy information for that processing.
RouteOS may separately act as a controller for information collected directly through routeos.io, including enquiries, purchases, support communications and account administration.
Where RouteOS processes personal information on behalf of a customer, the parties will comply with any applicable data-processing obligations.
3. Information We Process
Information submitted directly to RouteOS can include your name, company, email address, optional telephone number or website address, enquiry or support topic, and the content of your message.
Customer-operated RouteOS installations process customer booking data, driver data, business account data, and technical and usage data. This does not mean that RouteOS receives all information held in each customer’s installation.
4. How We Use Information
We use information supplied directly to RouteOS to respond to enquiries and support communications and administer the products and services purchased.
Where RouteOS processes information in providing its services, the purposes are to:
- provide the service;
- operate the software functionality; and
- maintain security.
5. Customer Data Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for how they collect and use information through their own installations, including their legal basis, any required consent and compliance with applicable laws. RouteOS is not responsible for unlawful processing by a customer.
6. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We may share data with:
- infrastructure providers;
- payment processors; and
- communication services.
We are not responsible for third-party practices.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is completely secure.
Subject to applicable law and the RouteOS Terms & Conditions, we are not liable for unauthorised access or data breaches beyond our control.
8. Data Retention
We retain data as long as necessary to operate the service or as required by law.
We may delete data at our discretion.
9. Data Loss and Backups
Data loss, corruption, or unavailability may occur. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your own website and business data.
10. International Transfers
Data may be processed globally.
You consent to such transfers.
11. Your Rights
For personal information collected through a customer-operated RouteOS installation, the operator is responsible for handling requests from its customers.
For questions or requests about information supplied directly to RouteOS, contact info@routeos.io.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time. The current version and its update date will be displayed on this page.
